Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF Alpha) is a cytokine, a type of protein that is involved in systemic inflammation and is part of the body's immune response. It is produced mainly by macrophages, but also by a variety of other cell types, including lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, neutrophils, and certain tumor cells. TNF Alpha plays a crucial role in regulating immune cells, inducing fever, apoptotic cell death, and inhibiting tumorigenesis.
