Enthesitis is the inflammation of the entheses, the sites where tendons or ligaments insert into the bone. In the context of pediatrics, it is often seen in association with specific types of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), particularly in the subtype known as enthesitis-related arthritis (ERA).
