The fetal stage starts from the 9th week of pregnancy and continues until birth. During this period, the developing organism is referred to as a fetus. The major focus during this stage is on growth and maturation of the already formed organs and tissues. The fetus begins to move, and its reflexes are developed. By the end of the 12th week, the external genitalia are distinguishable, and the fetus continues to grow in size and weight.
