What Are the Common Neonatal Disorders Related to Testosterone?
Several disorders in neonates can be linked to abnormal testosterone levels:
Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH): A genetic disorder affecting adrenal gland function, often leading to excessive androgen production, including testosterone. Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS): A condition where a genetically male infant (XY) is resistant to male hormones, resulting in female or ambiguous genitalia. Klinefelter Syndrome: A genetic condition in males characterized by an extra X chromosome, leading to lower levels of testosterone.
