Is Amniocentesis Safe?
While amniocentesis is generally considered safe, it does carry some risks. The most common risks include:
Miscarriage (occurs in about 1 in 300 to 1 in 500 procedures)
Leakage of amniotic fluid
Infection
Rh sensitization in Rh-negative mothers
