There are different methods for collecting a urine sample from children:
- Clean-catch method: The child is asked to urinate into a sterile container. - Catheterization: A catheter is inserted into the urethra to obtain the urine. - Suprapubic aspiration: A needle is inserted through the abdomen into the bladder to collect urine. This is usually done for infants.
