Bone Marrow: The traditional method involves extracting stem cells directly from the bone marrow, usually from the pelvic bones. Peripheral Blood: Stem cells are collected from the bloodstream after administering growth factors that encourage the stem cells to move from the bone marrow into the blood. Umbilical Cord Blood: Stem cells can also be collected from the umbilical cord blood at birth. This source is often used in neonatal cases.
