To diagnose a suspicious lump or mass To investigate unexplained symptoms such as persistent fever or weight loss To monitor the progress of a known condition To check for the spread of a disease
For example, a lymph node biopsy might be done to diagnose lymphomas or other conditions affecting the lymphatic system.
