A swallow study, also known as a videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) or modified barium swallow, is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the swallowing function in infants. It uses real-time X-ray imaging to visualize the oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal phases of swallowing.
