What are the Treatment Options for Marcus Gunn Jaw Winking Syndrome?
The management of MGJWS depends on the severity of the symptoms and the impact on the childâs vision and quality of life. Treatment options include:
Observation: In mild cases, where the impact on vision is minimal, observation and regular follow-up with an ophthalmologist may be sufficient. Non-Surgical Interventions: These may include the use of eyelid crutches (devices attached to glasses to support the eyelid) to manage ptosis. Surgical Interventions: In more severe cases, surgical options such as levator muscle resection, frontalis sling surgery, or other corrective procedures might be considered to improve the appearance and function of the eyelid.
