What are the Settings and Parameters in SIMV?
Several parameters can be adjusted in SIMV mode to tailor the ventilation support to the infant's needs:
Respiratory Rate (RR)
: The number of mandatory breaths per minute.
Tidal Volume (VT)
: The volume of air delivered with each mandatory breath.
Pressure Support (PS)
: Additional pressure provided during spontaneous breaths to reduce the work of breathing.
Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP)
: Pressure maintained in the lungs at the end of expiration to keep the alveoli open.
