Placenta previa poses several risks, both to the mother and the baby. For the mother, there is a risk of severe bleeding (hemorrhage), which may necessitate a cesarean section (C-section). For the baby, the condition can lead to preterm birth and associated complications such as respiratory distress syndrome and low birth weight.
