What are the Pharmacological Treatments for Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)?
RDS, often seen in premature infants, is treated with surfactant therapy to reduce the surface tension in the lungs and improve oxygenation. Exogenous surfactant preparations like beractant or poractant alfa are administered directly into the neonate's lungs.
