How is COVID-19 diagnosed in children?
Diagnosis is primarily made through
RT-PCR testing
of nasal or throat swabs. Rapid antigen tests are also used but may have lower sensitivity. Clinical symptoms and a history of exposure to the virus are also considered in making a diagnosis.
