Ear infections, or otitis media, are common in children. Treatment often includes pain management with acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and sometimes antibiotics if a bacterial infection is suspected. Recurrent ear infections may require further evaluation, and in some cases, the placement of ear tubes might be necessary.
