- Severe Malnutrition: Children who are unable to take in adequate nutrition orally or via a nasogastric tube may require a jejunostomy. - Congenital Anomalies: Conditions like esophageal atresia or short bowel syndrome may necessitate this procedure. - Neurological Disorders: Children with severe neurological impairments, such as cerebral palsy, may benefit from a jejunostomy for feeding. - Chronic Illnesses: Chronic gastrointestinal diseases like Crohnâs disease or severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
