Children who have had a severe allergic reaction to a previous dose of PCV or any of its components should not receive the vaccine. Additionally, children who are moderately or severely ill should wait until they recover before getting vaccinated. Parents should consult their childâs healthcare provider to determine if the vaccine is appropriate for their child.
