Most minor cuts and scrapes can be managed at home, but there are certain situations where you should seek medical attention:
The wound is deep or won't stop bleeding after applying pressure for 10 minutes. The wound is on the face or near the eyes. There are signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, warmth, or pus. The child has not had a tetanus shot in the last five years. There is a foreign object embedded in the wound that cannot be easily removed.
