What is the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI)?
The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) is a public health effort launched in 1988 to eliminate polio worldwide. This initiative is a collaboration between national governments, the World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary International, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
