The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is a US law passed in December 2015 that reauthorizes the 50-year-old Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the nation’s national education law and longstanding commitment to equal opportunity for all students. ESSA replaces the previous No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and aims to provide all children with a fair, equitable, and high-quality education.
