Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues. It can affect various parts of the body including the skin, joints, kidneys, and other organs. In pediatrics, SLE is less common but tends to be more severe when compared to adults.
