Premature babies, also known as preemies, are infants born before completing 37 weeks of gestation. The earlier a baby is born, the higher the risk of health complications. Prematurity is classified into different categories: late preterm (34-36 weeks), moderately preterm (32-34 weeks), very preterm (28-32 weeks), and extremely preterm (less than 28 weeks).
