ABR results help determine if there is hearing loss and, if so, the degree and type of loss. The responses are analyzed based on the latency and amplitude of the waves generated. Delays or absence of these waves can indicate issues such as: - Sensorineural hearing loss: Damage to the inner ear or auditory nerve. - Conductive hearing loss: Problems in the outer or middle ear. - Auditory neuropathy: Normal outer hair cells function but abnormal auditory nerve function.
