The NICU addresses a variety of neonatal disorders:
Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS): A condition often seen in premature infants due to immature lungs. Sepsis: A severe infection that spreads through the bloodstream, requiring immediate medical intervention. Neonatal Jaundice: Caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood, leading to yellowing of the skin and eyes. Hypoglycemia: Low blood sugar levels which can be critical for newborns. Congenital Heart Defects: Structural abnormalities of the heart present at birth. Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH): Bleeding into the brain's ventricular system, more common in very premature infants.
