VKDB is classified into three types based on the timing of onset:
1. Early VKDB: Occurs within the first 24 hours after birth, often associated with maternal medications that interfere with vitamin K metabolism. 2. Classical VKDB: Occurs between 1 to 7 days of life, typically in exclusively breastfed infants who did not receive a vitamin K prophylaxis. 3. Late VKDB: Occurs between 2 weeks to 6 months of age, primarily in exclusively breastfed infants who did not receive vitamin K at birth.
