Symptoms of CKD in children may not be apparent in early stages. As the disease progresses, symptoms can include:
- Fatigue and lethargy: Due to anemia or accumulation of waste products. - Poor appetite and growth failure: Resulting in delayed growth and development. - Swelling: Particularly in the face, hands, and feet due to fluid retention. - Hypertension: High blood pressure which can be both a cause and a consequence of CKD.
