While SIDS cannot be completely prevented, certain measures can reduce the risk:
Back to Sleep: Always place the baby on their back to sleep, for naps and at night. Firm Sleep Surface: Use a firm mattress and avoid soft bedding, pillows, or toys in the crib. Room Sharing: Keep the baby's sleep area in the same room where you sleep, but on a separate surface. Breastfeeding: Breastfeed your baby, as it has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS. Pacifiers: Offering a pacifier at nap time and bedtime can reduce the risk. Avoid Overheating: Dress the baby in light clothing and maintain a comfortable room temperature.
