What are the Indications for Isoniazid Use in Pediatrics?
Isoniazid is primarily indicated for the treatment of active and latent TB infections. In pediatric patients, it is often used as a prophylactic treatment for children who have been in close contact with individuals diagnosed with TB. Additionally, it is used in cases where children test positive for the tuberculin skin test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA) but have no active disease symptoms.
