What Age Group is Suitable for the Numeric Pain Rating Scale?
The NPRS is generally suitable for children aged 8 years and older. Younger children may have difficulty understanding the concept of numerical ratings and may benefit more from other pain assessment tools such as the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale or the FLACC Scale.
