How to Monitor and Manage Body Temperature in Newborns?
Regular monitoring of an infant's body temperature is essential. This can be achieved using axillary, rectal, or skin probes connected to monitoring equipment. The normal axillary temperature range for a newborn is between 36.5°C and 37.5°C. If an infant is found to be hypothermic (temperature 37.5°C) is detected, the infant should be undressed partially, and the environmental temperature should be adjusted accordingly.
