Levothyroxine is usually administered orally in the form of a tablet or liquid. It should be taken on an empty stomach, ideally 30 minutes to an hour before breakfast, to ensure optimal absorption. For infants, the tablet can be crushed and mixed with a small amount of water, breast milk, or formula.
