How Often Should Children Have Eye Exams?
The frequency of eye exams depends on the child's age and risk factors. Generally, children should have their eyes examined:
- At birth
- At 6 months of age
- At 3 years of age
- Before starting school and every 1-2 years thereafter
Children with a family history of eye problems or other risk factors may require more frequent examinations.
