How Can You Differentiate Between Allergies and Infections?
While both allergies and infections can cause similar symptoms, there are some key differences:
Allergies: Symptoms often include itching, watery eyes, and may be accompanied by sneezing or a runny nose. Allergic conjunctivitis usually affects both eyes. Infections: In the case of bacterial conjunctivitis, there is often a thick, yellow-green discharge and the eyelids may be stuck together in the morning. Viral conjunctivitis usually involves a watery discharge and may start in one eye before spreading to the other.
