Signs of self harm can be subtle and easy to miss. Parents and caregivers should be aware of the following indicators:
Unexplained cuts, bruises, or burns, often on the wrists, arms, thighs, or abdomen. Wearing long sleeves or pants even in hot weather to cover injuries. Frequent reports of accidental injuries. Behavioral changes such as withdrawal, irritability, or changes in eating and sleeping patterns.
