What are the common TP53-related conditions in children?
One of the most notable conditions associated with TP53 mutations in children is Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS). LFS is a rare inherited disorder that significantly increases the risk of developing multiple primary cancers at a young age. Children with LFS often present with adrenocortical carcinomas, brain tumors, and soft tissue sarcomas. Additionally, TP53 mutations can also be implicated in sporadic cases of pediatric cancer, not just hereditary forms.
