How are Heart Rate Abnormalities Treated in Neonates?
The treatment of heart rate abnormalities depends on the underlying cause. For tachycardia due to fever, antipyretics and hydration may be administered. In cases of infection, antibiotics are necessary. Bradycardia due to hypoxia might require supplemental oxygen or respiratory support. Medications such as atropine or epinephrine may be used in severe cases to stabilize heart rate.
