What is Pediatrics?
Pediatrics is a branch of medicine that deals with the health and medical care of
infants, children, and adolescents. The age limit usually ranges from birth up to 18 years. The primary aim of pediatrics is to reduce infant and child mortality rates, control the spread of infectious diseases, and promote healthy lifestyles for a long disease-free life.
Why are Pediatricians Important?
Pediatricians play a crucial role in the early detection of health problems, the treatment of illnesses, and the overall health and well-being of children. They monitor the physical, emotional, and mental development of children and provide parents with guidance on proper nutrition, safety, and prevention of common childhood illnesses.
